Karis’s work in the community is unparalleled and absolutely essential in assuring quality information and support for women in this area. This is my second interaction with Karis and Educate Your Plate and the research and relevance of her work continues to evolve. It’s clear that her investment in her business never wavers. She persists in ensuring women have the most accurate and uncompromised information so that they might be empowered to make the healthiest choices in their lives. The Women’s Weekly Wellbeing Group is providing a safe and collegiate space for women across the town to learn and develop themselves together. This important strand of community interest work was not the reason why I joined the group but I have benefitted from it nonetheless and see its value now, that the 8 weeks have finished. Not only does the individual learn about nutrition but the group learns to trust each other and it provides support that can’t be underestimated. Karis is an expert in what she does and she is a charming, funny, honest human being who encourages us all to accept ourselves as we are and to make the best right steps to see us to our healthier futures. I’ve loved the 8 week course and I would highly recommend it.

I really like the way Karis delivers her Women’s Wellness classes:
Karis has superb interpersonal skills.
She is passionate about her subject.
Her enthusiasm, dedication and immense, wide-ranging knowledge are inspiring.
She breaks down her subject matter into a different topic each week, which makes it all clear and easy to follow.
She explains everything at a pace which keeps everyone engaged and enables us all to understand and follow her.
She uses teaching techniques of verbal explanation and visual presentation, which adds clarity and variety.
She always checks that everyone understands and will always take any questions as they arise. This ensures we all feel heard and valued.
Karis is very open and honest with us.
She sometimes uses examples from her homelife to showcase her experience and knowledge. This makes her extremely relatable.
Karis is funny and charismatic, which helps her to engage with her audience.
She is very inclusive:
She offers the healthiest approach, but is never judgemental about anyone's personal choices.
Karis explains the reasons why we need to make the healthy life choices that will help us to thrive. She explains the science behind everything. My gained understanding helps me to change my habits for the better.
I absolutely love the food selections that Karis makes and brings to each session - and the accompanying recipes that she supplies.
I also love the accountability that is promoted at the end of each session - when we are given something to work on through the coming week.

...I attended a really insightful Healthy Habits session run by Karis Mason from Educate Your Plate which was held at the hub, and I wanted to share some highlights with you all.
Karis talked about how small, consistent changes can make a meaningful difference to our wellbeing — Her advice was practical, realistic, and focused on building habits that support long‑term health rather than quick fixes.
Some key points that stuck with me:
-
Focus on how tiny, consistent actions can lead to meaningful long-term change.
A good example for me is doom scrolling in the evenings and my aim is to replace this with a more positive habit like reading. I love reading but always say I never have the time.
Karis also kindly shared a few resources for anyone wanting to explore healthy habit formation in more depth.
I found the session really motivating, and it offered some simple ideas we can easily build into our routines.

What I like most about Karis is her enthusiasm about nutrition and also that she explains things in simple ways so I can understand exactly what’s going on in my body and how different foods affect it
The sessions have been so inspiring to me and they have changed my life forever
I now scrutinise everything that I eat and am very mindful of what I put in my body and I know I am now looking after it in the best possible way
Everyone is made to feel very welcome in the group and we encourage each other going forward to live our best life
and we have Karis to thank for that
I feel so privileged to have been able to attend her sessions and I would recommend them to anyone
