Our Approach

Our Story
Educate Your Plate CIC was born from a desire to tackle the alarming health challenges faced by our local communities in Halton and Merseyside. In Halton, 74% of adults are classified as overweight or obese, and rates of diabetes are significantly higher than the national average. Merseyside, too, struggles with some of the worst health outcomes in the UK, where life expectancy in certain areas is nearly two decades shorter than in more affluent regions. Food insecurity adds to these challenges, leaving many households without access to fresh, nutritious food. These stark statistics fuelled our mission to make a difference.
At Educate Your Plate CIC, we combine science, community, and empowerment to create real change. Through practical tools, personalised guidance, and ongoing support, we encourage small, sustainable lifestyle changes that compound into lasting health improvements. We celebrate every success, big or small, because every step towards better health is worth recognising.
Our philosophy is simple but powerful: empower people with the knowledge and confidence to make informed decisions about their health. We’re here to inspire and support individuals and families in building healthier, more enjoyable habits—creating ripple effects that strengthen our entire community.
Together, we’re rewriting the future of health and wellbeing, one plate at a time.
Our Methodology
Educate Your Plate CIC provides accessible, evidence-based health and nutrition education to empower individuals and families to make small, sustainable changes that compound over time for lasting improvements in health and well-being.
Our methodology is grounded in the real-life experiences and challenges faced by the people in our community. Through workshops, resources, and community-focused initiatives, we aim to create healthier, more connected communities by addressing the root causes of health disparities, reducing preventable diseases, and improving quality of life for all.
We rely on feedback loops, relevant local data, and the latest research in food science and nutrition to ensure our approach is evidence-based and responsive to community needs. By focusing on what truly matters to those we serve, we deliver practical and impactful solutions that resonate with their everyday lives.
Using behaviour change models, we focus on key areas that contribute to overall health, including diet and nutrition, movement, sleep, community, purpose, and a sense of belonging. Our approach is inspired by the findings from Blue Zones—regions where people live the longest and healthiest lives—emphasising habits like eating mostly plant-based foods, fostering social connections, staying active naturally, and prioritising rest and reflection.
